The Play Ball Foundation invests in schools in high need communities to provide equitable access to team sports opportunities to empower middle school youth.

The Play Ball Foundation was founded in 2006 to “get more feet on the field” in Boston middle schools. Since that time Play Ball has expanded to include six school districts (Boston, Lawrence, Holyoke, New Bedford, Lynn & Salem) to address inequitable access to school-based sports programs.

Play Ball partners with our communities to create and run middle school sports leagues for students, where their classmates are their teammates and their coaches are their teachers. The Play Ball Foundation leverages the power of sports to support students in a vital period of their development.

Currently, The Play Ball Foundation funds over 4,000 middle school students annually in Boston, Lawrence, Holyoke, New Bedford, Lynn & Salem. Sports leagues for both boys and girls include soccer, baseball, volleyball, flag football, cross-country, cheer, track & field, basketball & wrestling.
