It’s time to JINGLE your bells, DECK your halls, UGLY that sweater, SPIKE the eggnog, and get into the HOLIDAY SPIRIT while supporting my fundraising efforts for Play Ball! Foundation's Santa Speedo Run.
On Sunday, December 13th, I ran the grueling one mile (hahah) with the family, puppy and some friends in our neighborhood. Don't worry, we all wore masks and were socially distanced outside.
The Santa Speedo Run started out as 100 guys donning speedos and racing down Boylston Street to raise money for charity. Now in it's 21st year, it's Play Ball!’s largest annual fundraiser. This year, it took on a different form due to COVID-19, but it didn't stop the support for Play Ball.
Play Ball's mission is to increase school engagement for middle school students in under-resourced communities by creating and supporting school-based team sports opportunities. Through the experience of team sports, Play Ball seeks to inspire students to succeed in school, become engaged in their school communities and develop social-emotional skills that will make them better prepared for success in middle and high school.
